This is not the sort of food you would expect to find in a gourmet restaurant, but it is imaginative, wholesome and healthy and easy to prepare using everyday ingredients. It is also inspired by a 'old-fashioned' attitude learnt at the feet of amazingly inventive women who would use whatever was at hand and use up 'leftovers' in constantly evolving forms.
